Dr. Simona Cristina Romanoschi
Simona is a Louisiana State University alumna since 1998 when she graduated with a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Human Ecology (Textile Science). After a short and fruitful association with Saks Fifth Avenue - New York City, NY, she joined the Intertek CSER (Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility) Group (located in Springfield, New Jersey) where she is now Senior Manager for Research and Development within the Global CSER Group. In this function Simona is managing and leading various research projects and initiatives, working groups and new programs in the area of labor rights, human rights, environmental health and safety with focus on global supply chains related issues. Previously, Simona was Senior Manager of the North American Social Compliance Monitoring Operations, in charge of supervising, training and developing a team of over 20 monitors on labor and workplace issues, management practices, and systems to ensure code of conduct and legal compliance. It is hard to name a country on the Globe where she has not traveled to yet! Her favorite places to visit whether on business or vacation are Rome, Hong Kong and Rio de Janeiro.
Simona was born in Romania where in 1993 she received a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Iasi. Simona is married to Ovidiu Romanoschi, an LSU alumnus, too. Ovidiu holds a doctoral degree in Engineering Science and a master degree in Experimental Statistics, both from LSU.
