Why Attend Graduate School?

 

     Whether you are a masters or a doctoral student, we hope to provide you with a unique opportunity to build upon your current academic achievements and personal experiences. It is our goal to help you achieve uncommon results in your intellectual development.

     As a graduate student in this program, you will further develop your critical thinking skills, which will assist you to better define key issues and challenges within the industry. You will also acquire a competitive edge by developing a systematic approach, not only in thinking, but also in pinpointing the best solutions to challenges. As a result, you will realize the importance and satisfaction that comes from building new knowledge based on your own ability to evaluate the significance of the evidence presented to you.

     The TAM program offers unique opportunities for working closely with faculty members and fellow students. You will gain insight regarding the textile/apparel industry as well as other valuable resources. As a member of a community of scholars in Textiles, Apparel Design, and Merchandising and the School of Human Ecology, you will find that collaboration among scholars is encouraged.
